Stability or Experience?
A friend was contemplating on “what ifs” if she stayed back home instead of trying out living in another country. It also made me think of “what if” I stayed back home in 2009. I would definitely be more stable in my career, finances, and life in general, but I would’ve missed out on a lot of travels, self-discoveries, experiences, and people. I also think that I...

I was writing a post and accidentally pressed command+Left arrow instead of alt+L arrow and lost everything. Usually the text comes back when I press command+R arrow but it didn’t! And I was almost done. It took me a while writing that :( Oh well. I’ll come back for it on the a weekend :(

Nuno sa Punso
me: Ivan, go with me to Angono
Ivan: Angono? Hahaha! What are we going to do there?
me: I want to see the Petroglyphs?
Ivan: The what???
me: Petroglyphs! It's a rock with 3000-yr old drawings and inscriptions on it
mom: where is that in Angono?
me: It's by Eastridge (the golf course)
mom: Don't go there! Baka ma-nuno sa punso pa kayo dun!!*
me: LOL!!! WTH, mom? It's just a rock! And it's an official park.
*nuno sa punso: nuno is dwarf. punso is a brown mound where dwarfs live. Meaning of what my mom said: You guys might get cursed by a dwarf there!

I'm tired.
Making my version of “It’s more fun in the Philippines” isn’t fun anymore lol. And, katamad na. (I’m already lazy). But that was a good catch-up to my 365 posts. I’m still so left behind on it though ^ ^

Just a warning
To show my support for our fledgling tourism industry, there’s going to be a few It’s More Fun in the Philippines posts coming up. As much as I think infrastructure, policies, political will, and a whole bunch of other stuff is needed for ecotourism (and tourism) in the country to happen, I’m all out to support this campaign.

Don't take a nap
before an early morning flight. I was supposed to leave for the airport around 430 am today. I took a shower, finished packing, and was ready to go by 230. But, I thought it was too early to go since I already checked-in online, and I really wouldn’t know where to sleep at the airport. So I sat down on the couch, set 3 alarms on 2 devices, and took a nap. When I woke up it was still very...

Bad with accents or just plain deaf?
I was walking along the river at Robertson Quay early this week, waiting for a couple of friends, and a huge muscular bloke came up to me and said in this strong kind of British accent (or an Australian from deep down under): “Excuse me. Excuse me, Miss. You can’t smirk while walking in Singapore? I try to avoid making eye contact with him - my Manila street instincts tell me to do...

I had a leather-bound travel notebook. I doodled in it. Had notes, thoughts, memories. I don’t know where it is now. I think it’s in Manila or I prolly left it in the US. Anyway, I only got to religiously write in it a few times (few meaning 3 or 4 days). Most of the time, I just left my thoughts in my head. My illegible handwriting - illegible is an understatement,  is prolly one of...

3 Reasons to Travel While You're Young →
The other night, I had a conversation with a young woman who had a number of decisions ahead of her, one of which is whether she would go to grad school or travel the world. I told her to travel. Hands down. No excuse. Just go. She sighed. “Yeah, but…” Never were more fatal words spoken. Yeah, but… what about debt? Yeah, but… what about my job?   Yeah, but… what about my boyfriend (or...

Singapore Airlines is overrated - it’s Economy class at least, just because their airplane food sucks. Suck meaning it’s average and just like everyone else’s. I was expecting their food to taste better and have better quality. Their American and Oriental dishes are just blahhh and oily. I was also expecting better service. It’s much better than Delta’s and...

I think I’m going to start making travel videos. Starting with my next trip, whenever that will be. I just suddenly had an idea!
