Travel Dust

Chronicling the travel memories, musings, and desires of a tropical city girl out to see the world one backpack at a time.
I Likey

One of the very few trips I took which I didn’t plan or contribute to the itinerary. It was my friend’s birthday celebration and we all met at Kota Kinabalu for it (they came from Manila and I was coming from Singapore). The celebrant planned everything out, including the budget. For a double major in Finance and Economics, and a current Masters in Applied Economics student, she failed in the budgeting part. LOL!!!

She gave the wrong budget because she miscalculated a few expenses and she wanted to do some other stuff we didn’t plan, like parasailing (super fun btw). I only brought the exact amount of money she said we needed. I had a feeling I needed to bring more but I didn’t want to spend the rest in my savings and I haven’t received my salary yet - it’s tight to be a graduate student. Others brought extra and some that did, didn’t have a lot of extra cash too! I had to borrow from the celebrant to pay for my cab back to the airport - alone, and pay for my share in our hotel. Classic ito!  (This was classic!)
