Travel Dust

Chronicling the travel memories, musings, and desires of a tropical city girl out to see the world one backpack at a time.
I Likey

After island hopping and eating somewhere in the middle of the city we walked to a nearby bus stop…

friend 1: there’s no cab…

friend 2: guys! pictuuuure!!!

us: *smile*

me: Ummm…it’s going to rain.

friend 1: there’s really no cab!

me: *looks up* It’s really going to rain!

friend 3: Oh my God, guys!!!

friend 4: That looks like a mall! *points*

me: I think we should cross. Higher chance of getting a cab there..

friend 3: Let’s cross na..

friend 1: Tara! (Let’s go!) *suddenly runs*

us: HUH? *startled* runs across like 6 pieces of dice thrown on the street*

after 5 seconds, rain drops started to fall…

me: UMUULAN NAAAAA! WAAAAH!!! (IT”S RAINING! WAAAAH!)

us: *laughing*cars started coming*someone screams*goes through shrubs*crosses again & goes through parked cars & parking barriers*

friend 1 and 3: *cuts a line and gets in one cab each* (they didn’t know there was a line)

Then it was like a typhoon…for a few minutes.

We looked really stupid!! If you know Ayala Center in Metro Manila or any business district with malls, imagine seeing a group of girls in resort/beach wear scrambling, laughing and screaming across - jaywalking (or running?), the main street. It felt and looked like we were in a movie!! Good times!!!

Key takeaway here: bring an umbrella. And jaywalk if no choice lol
